i had one of the wierdest conversations with my parents yesterday morning(god i hate the morning) and i was wondering if anyone would venture comment. for those of you who don't know my parents they're...certinally not average parents and their views on things tend to be moderately contradictory, especially regarding drugs and alcohol.
so i was woken up by this question. what if you were a parent and you found alcohol in your childs room (this child is somewhere between the ages of 14 and 19) and you didn't know they were drinking or anything...what would you do? would you punish them? do you think they're telling you the truth about who's it is and where it came from? how do you know if this child has a drinking problem? do you believe them when they say it was the first time? should there be some sort of get out of jail free card?
you get the idea. it was actually quite interesting. a lot of things made sense after this particular conversation, espcially about the whole the first time is really just a chance to experiment, something every teenager should do (which i realize is not always the average parent's oponion)
basically this whole thing just got me thinknging. because i honestly had no idea what i would have done. comments, suggestions anyone.
